It is said until Shri Mahakaal calls you, you cannot go. Actor Kartik Aaryan has been one of the lucky people to have visited Shri Mahakaal temple recently. The actor has just won his first National award for the film Chandu Champion. He has returned his glory to where it belongs to seek blessings with family in Ujjain Mahakaal ji.

Ujjain Mahakaal ji is a Jyotirlinga temple of Lord Shiva. It is said that Lord Shiva is himself present there to bless his devotees. If we talk about history, it is said that a demon named Dushan invaded and terrorized the city, so the citizens prayed to Lord Shiva for protection. Lord Shiva emerged in his fierce Mahakaal form in Ujjain, destroying the demon. At the plea of his devotees, he agreed to reside permanently in the city as a Jyotirlinga. After which it is also said that no King (supreme of any state) can stay at Ujjain at night because there is one King of Ujjain, Mahakaal ji.
