Casting couch - Uproot the evil

Casting couch is a worm that has been eradicating many working fields specially the entertainment industry upto a shameful level that is causing the talent to set back. Those of our audience who are unaware what a casting couch is, it is a kind of barter system where the employer asks the physical compromise in return of the job.

I have been in IT industry for about 11 years. The job is earned on the basis of interview , on the basis of merit. Howsoever bad the IT industry is, I have never faced such circumstance where one gets the job in return of the physical compromise or money. I have given many interviews in my lifetime. If we pass the interview, we get the job for a particular technology.

In the entertainment industry also, people come to make their career, to act. They come with a lot of dreams to act in serials, series or films to earn money, to be something in life, but to their surprise, instead of weighing on the basis of their talent, acting skills, they are asked for a hefty amount of money or physical compromise which is completely wrong. Above of all, they are treated like a mosquito before they even showcase their talent. Money is great if it is hard earned, it is not justified to ask for lakhs of rupees to a new comer whose family background is middle class and who has not even started earning.

There has to be the strict rules and government must intervene in such kind of scenarios where casting couch happens. We as a young generation must also set back from committing to such jobs where any sort of physical compromise is asked for. This would automatically refrain the entertainment industry employers not to ask for any sort of favour in return of job instead of showing their talent.
